5 SIMPLE STEPS TO MAKE YOUR FOUNDATION LAST ALL DAY
I’m in no way a make up professional, I just love to experiment with make up and share my thoughts with you on what products I love and how I use them. When it comes to foundation, it took me quite a while to figure out how to make it last all day without caking on layers. After using a few steps for the past year or so, my makeup now seems to last all day without moving or fading. So, follow these 5 simple steps to make your foundation stay all day:
Both morning and night, it’s really important to cleanse your face, both to get rid of dirt and remove excess oils. I find this step vital and the most important in assuring my make up will apply evenly. For this, I use either Garnier’s Daily Energising Gel Scrub, or for something a little less harsh I use their Gel Wash, both from their Pure Active Fruit Energy range.
Whether it’s with a sponge or brush, blending your foundation a lot is key to get a natural flawless look. Don’t leave foundation looking cakey and thinking it’ll last longer, building up extremely blended layer/s will give you the best results. My favourite option is Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation with any of my brushes, or a Beauty Blender.
If you have normal to dry skin, or you don’t amoxil online cheap like to use powder, you can skip this part out. However, for me I have combination/oily skin so I used to find it difficult to keep my make up from coming off once getting oily. A powder that I’ve been using for the past year is Rimmel’s Stay Matte Powder, and for the price this product works wonders. I use this to set the oily parts of my face (nose, chin, brow bone), but you can use it entirely how you wish to. Another product I use occasionally is the Ben Nye Banana Powder, which is very long lasting and great for bigger occasions than on a daily basis.
You do not have to do this next step, but its one that makes a difference in staying power for my foundation –
Setting sprays are a multi purpose beauty product; as they can be used to refresh bare skin, help to dampen brushes or sponges, or ultimately to set your entire make up. I use a setting spray as the last step in my routine. Spritzing a setting spray helps to flawlessly set your make up, and also makes it stay that vital bit longer! I use MAC’s Prep + Prime Fix + in Coconut – the scent is totally dreamy.
