Finding the perfect foundation can be so tricky, especially from the drugstore with no staff to guide you on what matches your skin tone, skin type and so on. For the past few months I’ve been testing some drugstore foundations, and I’ve found some that I absolutely adore and find work as well as my high-end picks. Typically I like to use Charlotte Tilbury’s Magic Foundation in Shade 5, it gives a gorgeous natural dewy glow, but you don’t have to splurge to get these results. Some days I like a matte finish, some days I like light and dewy, so I have a few picks that anyone can match their preference with!
On a day-to-day basis I absolutely love to have a medium coverage that is semi-matte, mainly to control oil levels and not have to reapply powder. This foundation gives exactly that, but also makes you glow from within. It’s the most gorgeous and natural looking foundation I’ve used from the drugstore. When applying it’s so quick to blend and feels super luxurious. The colour match is also amazing as there are many shades to choose from. I can’t recommend this foundation enough! RRP £9.99
After using the serum version of this foundation for sometime (mixed with my Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation, as the serum is super light) I decided to try the fuller coverage alternate to wear alone. I absolutely love this foundation when I want fuller coverage, as that’s what it gives. I find it to work so well with dry to oily skin, and it lasts all throughout the day without budging. It also smells so fruity and gorgeous which is an added bonus. RRP £9.99
If you have combination to oily then this foundation is more for you. As well as giving a beautiful medium to full coverage, it lasts all day without needing much powder touch up. It’s also highly recommended for acne prone skin, as it works wonder to cover up any blemishes and scarring. For a perfect application I like to use a Beauty Blender, as it really blends the product seamlessly. Highly recommend! RRP £7.99
Although this product is bought online and it a little more expensive than the rest, I still class this as drugstore pricing. However, it is more high-endquality, which is what you want for any price! The formula uses true colour pigments that match your skin tone after application to give a natural skin-on-skin effect. It gives a medium but dewy finish, which is also buildable if you like a bit more coverage. If you’d like to see a full review on this foundation, then click here. RRP £12.50
