As the weather begins to warm up and the mornings are lighter, I like my skincare routine to change a little bit. By this I mean I prefer to spend less time on getting ready in the morning and more time being productive. As my skin is quite dull and tired, I like to use as many Vitamin C products as I can all year round, as I find they work wonders for my skin. I’ve found that these products work extremely well for me, so here are my recommendations.
As soon as I wake up I can’t start the day without giving my face a good scrub. Not only does it wake you up, it gives you a head start to the perfect base for makeup. My favourite is Clean & Clear’s Morning Energy Skin Energising Daily Scrub. It smells amazing as well as scrubs all the dirt away. For moisturiser I have been loving The Body Shop’s Vitamin C Glow Boosting Moisturiser. I find it instantly brightens, hydrates and revitalises the skin. The Vitamin C extracts help say goodbye to dull, grumpy and tired skin – absolute lifesaver for me. As an added bonus for when I have time at the weekends, Origins GinZing Refreshing Face Mask is my go to. With an icy cool formula it encourages the skin to wake up in an instant and give it an extra boost. I also find it helps my skin cope with a full day of makeup and leaves a healthy glow.
Without a doubt, my favourite part of my morning skincare routine is spritzing my face with Lush’s Eau Roma Water. It instantly wakes me up, and makes me feel fresh throughout the day. I apply this as the last step before my moisturiser. Within 2 seconds you are done and ready to go! For eyes my obsession is Kiehl’s Rosa Artica Eye cream. It’s infused with Resurrection Flower, which revitalises your eyes are make them appear more awake and youthful. So perfect for those mornings I wake up with panda eyes!
I recently received Hey Honey Good Morning Silk Facial Serumin a Birchbox, and it became a very quick favourite of mine. I don’t use this every single morning, most likely 4 times a week. Its many nutrients help smooth and tone the skin to leave you with glowing skin even after you take off your makeup. It’s very light formula protects your skin all day and works great as a makeup primer. A final step I always do before applying makeup is dab on some Carmex – the perfect way to keep your lips moisturised, especially before applying a matte lipstick.
