6 things i've been loving lately

Coming across new things that I love is something that makes me very happy. It can be anything from a new pj set to a little lipstick and I’m all giddy. Since it’s the start of a new year I’ve been trying out more things than ever, new hobbies, TV shows, books and of course beauty bits, and I want to tell you about them.

Lipsticks. I’m a beauty gal, so this love is quite expected. However, I’m a little more obsessed than usual. If you’re up to date with Life With MCM you’ll know I’ve posted a fair few of lipstick posts lately, like The Perfect Pair, and I’ve been trying so many new ones. My current favourites and new-in’s are Charlotte Tilbury’s Matte Revolution in Pillow Talk and ColourPop’s Ultra Matte in Clueless, two gorgeous dusty pinks.

Interiors. When 2017 arrived I had the urge to re-design my room, so Pinterest has had my back this whole way. Now its complete I’m obsessed with adding new bits, and my favourite shops have been H&M and Sainsbury’s Home. I may be a little too obsessed as I’ve ended up with more things than I need, but there are so many gorgeous bits out there lately. Pinks, white and gold/copper is the style I’ve gone for.

Experimenting with my camera. I received a fair few photography books over Christmas, and I guess that just says I’m getting into photography more and more. Some are the greatest priligy 60mg manuals I’ve ever seen and because of this I love to head out at the weekends to various places and experiment with photography. Good spots for this time of year have been forests and city streets.

Slippers. I’m an adult and I’ve never owned a pair of slippers until 2017 – a guilty confession. I’m in love with cosying up as its Winter so I finally decided to treat myself to some. I haven’t stopped wearing them. Oh how I was missing out.

Being more positive. The end of a year for many people makes you become a bit demotivated and uninspired, but at the start of 2017 I banished that mind-set and started to focus on myself more. This meant I could focus of positivity rather than the negatives and so far it’s helped a tonne. Having more ‘me time’ lets me unwind and clear my headspace, and in turn has helped me become a lot happier.

Reading non-fiction. Last year I was all about fiction books, mostly the Sophie Kinsella books because who doesn’t love them?! However, since being gifted and buying more non-fiction I’ve been really into them. As well as pretty covers I’m all for biographies, inspiration manuals and photography books. I find I get a creativity boost from them, which is what books are all about right? I’ve been loving Capturing Your Style by Aimee Song the past few weeks.
