With January being pretty much over, I’ve been rounding up my favourite Winter Beauty Picks from the past couple of months. I’ve been trying so many new products but the essentials that I pick up daily of course have to be my favourites and I wanted to share them with you all. I’ve got a whole range of products, from skincare, beauty and fragrance so lets go.
A winter essential for me has to be a good old hydrating hand cream. Now, I’m super fussy with hand creams as I don’t like them being too sticky, too sickly scented or too big to carry around but I’ve found the perfect one. All winter I’ve been taking with me The Body Shop’s Vanilla Chai Hand Cream, which was part of their holiday collection. As well as being super hydrating and soothing, it dries almost instantly and doesn’t leave that horrible sticky feeling. It smells absolutely beautiful, a woody vanilla scent and is the perfect size to take around in any size bag. Talking of skincare I always ensure to keep my face well nourished during the colder months, and since getting the Skin Chemists Rose Quartz Oil I’ve been hooked. I apply this most evenings with or before my moisturiser; my choice for the past few months is the Origins GinZing moisturiser. The oil is formulated with Rose Quartz, which provides you with the essential vitamins and minerals your skin needs for an illuminated, hydrated and refined complexion.
To brighten my complexion when doing makeup I of course need to mention some highlighters. I’ve been all about the intense buy ventolin salbutamol highlight and for this I have two different preferences, golden or a light champagne glow. To get the sunkissed golden ‘lit-from-within’ look I love Jouer Cosmetic’s Powder Highlight in Topaz. To get a softer more natural highlight I’ve reverted back to an old favourite, the Mary Loumanzier by TheBalm. Having dewy and glowy skin during the winter is my favourite; I have a whole post dedicated to Glowy Skin Favourites. To add a little faux flush a.k.a. blush the Nars Orgasm blush has made its way back into my makeup bag, for the thousandth time. I just love this for a peachy pink rosy glow.
I’ve being loving a whole handful (or 4) of lipsticks but there have been a few that have stood out to me during the past month or so. It may be because of their beautiful rose gold packaging, but the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution lipsticks have been my go to. I love the shades Pillow Talk, a new limited edition shade for Valentines and Very Victoria, a beautiful nude brown. For a more intense matte formula I’ve been reaching for ColourPop Ultra Mattes in Clueless, Teeny Tiny and Rooch, and Kat Von D’s Everlasting Lipstick in Bow N Arrow.
Last but not least, a fragrance and yet another rose gold favourite, Giorgio Armani Si, the most stunning scent from the range yet. This is so effortlessly chic and has beautiful warm musky undertones that shout sophistication. This and Dior’s Miss Dior have been my absolute must haves this winter.
