Although I am a glowing kinda skin girl, I do always set my base, as I prefer to highlight the high points of my face to get the ‘dewy’ look. I have tried a fair few powders, both loose and compact but I always turn back to loose powders as I find they work best both to give you a natural finish and they last longer. Lets dive into my top picks…
First, lets start with my absolute favourite, the one I use for everyday – the Nars Light Reflecting Loose Setting Powder. Since receiving this powder as a gift, I would say way over a year ago now, I haven’t stopped using it since, and yes there is a hefty amount left. Although this is a white powder it doesn’t transfer that way onto the skin, and by no means leaves a trace of colour on the skin. Its invisible silky formula is infused with Photochromic Technology, which diffuses light and adjusts to new sources of light throughout the day. It gives a really natural finish and I never need to touch up with powder, and I have normal-oily skin! With this I like to set my concealed/highlighted areas, such as under my eyes, down my nose, cupids bow, chin and middle of the forehead. I lightly buy generic priligy uk dust this over, and sometimes even lightly bake with it for a flawless finish.
To set all over my face, which I only sometimes do, I love the Ben Nye Banana Powder. This powder from Ben Nye comes in many different shades to suit all skin tones, or translucent if you want it for the same reason or to just powder the highlighted areas. This shade is perfect for my skin tone and for a fuller and matte coverage I dust this all over and I’m good to go. Its very lightweight and micro milled and sets your foundation with a hint of colour, of which you choose.
If you like to ‘bake’ on a regular, or like to do it intense, for this my pick is the Vichy Dermablend Setting Powder. It has a natural matte finish and is built to reinforce the hold of foundation. I use this particular powder for baking as it can be packed on in greater amounts than the Nars Powder, just because it seems to hold better while I walk around or continue with the rest of my face whilst it bakes away.
Next on my list to try is the Laura Mercier Translucent Powder, have you got any favourites?
