I don’t know why, but I can’t ever put my makeup on without putting on some highlighter. It just doesn’t feel right, and if I ever try and miss it out and go for a different look, I always end up going back and putting it on. Testing out new highlighters is always fun when they work the way you want them to, which is exactly what happened when I got the Tarte Pro Glow Palette. If you love a glow then you’re going to love this.
This month when I was in New York this product was at the very top of my ‘Sephora list’. In most stores I went into it was either sold out or low stock, so in my eyes that made up my decision, I had to get it. Also, not only is this a highlighting kit, it has two contour shades. I mainly bought this for the highlighting shades, but I have fallen in love with the shade ‘sculpt’ as my new contour shade, it is the perfect grey toned brown that gives an effortless sculpt. The deeper toned contour colour called ‘shade’ is a cream formula that blends so easily. However, it is too dark for me so maybe this will come out during summer and apply it lightly.
Now, lets talk about the stars of the show, the highlighters. Never before have I tried a highlighter from Tarte so this was all quite exciting to me. I’d heard really good things so I knew I was going to get my money’s worth. All four shades are super pigmented and super easy to blend, offering a buildable and micro-shimmer strobing effect. They leave the most amazing ‘wet look’ glow on the high points of your face, and I love how diverse the shades are.
We have ‘lit’, which is a neutral champagne highlight that I think is great for most skin tones. Then there’s ‘strobe’ that is quite literally the ideal strobing shade; it’s a pearl highlight, a little on the fair side, that is really stunning for a bright sheen on the cheeks. For the deeper shades in the highlighting section, there is ‘fire’ a beautiful bronze shade with gold flecks throughout and ‘stunner’, which is a opalescent highlight, with quite a lilac/pink undertone, so stunning and I can’t wait to wear this in the summer.
Since trying this I’ve been eyeing up more highlighters from Tarte, as I’m so impressed by these. Luckily, I’ve been able to wear all four highlight shades and the ‘sculpt’ contour shade and I’ve had amazing use of this palette as I’ve got nothing quite like it. It’s definitely a must have in your beauty wardrobe.
You can get this on Sephora, Ulta or the Tarte website.
