When it comes to skincare, my favourite products are those that can pamper. Yes, I’m all for hydration, nourishment and getting rid of those puffy bags, who isn’t? But, what I enjoy most is having a good old pamper with some products, maybe once a week or when I get time.
Now, I absolutely love face masks. I have quite an excessive collection but tend to stick to the same few. I either go for nourishing creamy masks or hydration boosters. I’ve got used to using the same kind of masks and it was time for a change. The Body Shop introduced me to their Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask* and I’m finally back into the swing of using other types of pamper masks. I hadn’t actually used a ‘purifying’ mask in a while as they used to dry up my skin. These kinds of masks are formulated to draw out all of the bad stuff, but they never left my skin feeling hydrated. However, this one is quite the game changer.
This mask is inspired by Ayurvdeic traditions (for healing) and is 100% vegan friendly. Its ingredient list boasts some amazing natural goodies such as bamboo charcoal, green tea leaves and organic tree oil and doesn’t contain any parabens, silicone or mineral oils. I was a little weary about using this because it claims to be ‘purifying’ and I was worried it would dry up my skin, but it has really proved me wrong. The mask is invigorating so much so that is tingles for the entire time you have it on, which is actually a really calming feeling and lets you know its working its magic. It works to draw out impurities and all the bad stuff from your pores to leave you with a healthy glow. Never before have I used a clay-like mask that actually leaves my skin feeling hydrated without having to slather on a tonne of moisturising products.
You can complete your pamper session with a spa-like and non-messy application, as it comes with its own facial mask brush. Never before have I applied a facemask with a brush so this was also a whole new experience for me. It’s thin but wide head means you can apply the product precisely and also means you don’t get messy hands, which is the part of facemasks I hate. Getting in a rut with product all over my hands is never fun. I make sure to wash it out every time I apply the mask, for hygiene reasons and I also don’t want the brush to dry out.
I have oily/combination skin and would use this around 1-2 times a week, or when my skin needs it. I reckon this will be a good one for summer when I tend to get the oiliest!
Everything in this product is 100% natural and incredible for your skin. You can shop this mask along with others from the new range here. Are there any products you love from The Body Shop for a pamper?
