If you’re an avid beauty lover like myself you may have seen this beautiful set around quite a lot. It’s the Tarte Maneater Set from QVC that went on sale for an incredible price at just £43.96. I simply couldn’t resist… 7 Tarte products for under £44? Take my money was my first and final thought, and I’m so pleased I got it.
The set comes with a bit of everything from a stunning eye palette to foundation and tools. I was actually so slow to use this when it arrived, purely because I didn’t want to disrupt its prettiness. I’ve been a huge fan of everything I’ve used from Tarte so my expectations were rather high and again, they didn’t disappoint.
I’ve actually wanted the Maneater palette for quite a long time, so when I saw it came in a set with a tonne of other goodies it seemed rude not to get it! It’s a perfect everyday palette with gorgeous golden and warm tones. All 8 shades boast the most amazing pigment and they are unbelievably creamy. If you make sure you tap off your brush, you don’t get any fallout and I always get intense pigment with just one swipe. My favourite look with this palette is to use Saucy in the crease, Midnight in the outer V, with Hypnotic all over the lid and Lace in the inner corner. This gives a gorgeous cranberry warm eye, and for the summer months the shade Purr and Foxy are gorgeous for all over the lid for a lighter gold look. The palette comes with a duo brush, with a crease blending brush at one end and a large flat shader at the other, which are both so great at picking up and applying product.
The set also contains more goodies for the eyes with the Maneater Voluptuous Mascara and Self-Sharpening Liner. The mascara is super volumising and adds great length, I just wish it came with a fibre brush instead of plastic as its just my preference. However, it is a mascara I’m continuing to use and the brush is actually really comfortable on the lashes. It is great for a quick and easy application as it gives instant results without having the faff around for 10 minutes trying to curl, volumnise and lengthen them, it does it within just a few seconds. The liner is one I haven’t used much of as I don’t wear liner that often, but when I have tried it out I found it to be super creamy and long-lasting. It’s so creamy in fact that if you like to smudge out your liner, this is perfect for that!
The set also comes with their Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Foundation and I went with the shade light-medium, which turned out to be a great colour match. There was a limited selection of shades, but I knew that if it wasn’t quite right I could mix it with another. By itself the foundation is full coverage with SPF 15 protection. You only need a really small amount of this to cover your entire face as it does have high coverage and I find it hides imperfections and blemishes with just one light layer. It can give a really natural finish if you apply the right amount and it lasts all day as its oil-free and claims to be 12-hour wear. I’ve worn this for a whole day (around 10-11 hours) and I found it didn’t budge and also didn’t need powder touch ups. It also comes with a buffer foundation brush, which has densely packed bristles and a large head that makes foundation application super quick and easy. The foundation also pairs so well with my trusty Tarte Shape Tape Concealer and they melt together seamlessly for a flawless full coverage base.
Lastly, for the lips the set comes with a Lip Sculptor Lipstick & Gloss in the shade Kind, a really pretty mauve shade. This double-ended lip product means you can achieve a full rich colour satin lip or a high shine gloss, all from one product. These are so handy to take on the go with you if you like to change up your preference throughout the day. I actually love them paired together as it gives the most beautiful glossy mauve lip! There are both super long lasting and comfortable to wear. Thankfully, the gloss isn’t a sticky one either, which means it doesn’t give you any issues in windy weather (as that is what we’re used to in the UK!).
The set comes in this super cute purple makeup pouch, which fits all of the products in with enough space for more. Its also a great size to but in a medium size handbag if you like to take lots of beauty products on the go with you.
What made this purchase even more understandable is that QVC now offer an easy payment option, which means you can pay off your purchases in monthly instalments. This means just 4 monthly payments of £10.99, which is incredible but could get dangerous, right? It’s all worth it though! This payment method makes beauty purchases more justifiable, which I’m all about!
