Since purchasing more and more from Tarte the past few months I’ve honestly fallen head over heels for it. If only the entire collection was easier to purchase in the UK, I think I’d be buying as much as I could. There is so much in the range, from makeup to skincare, that there is always something new I want to try. Out of the bits I have, there are a select few products that I just have to tell you about! Lets jump right in to the goodies.
If you’re all about a flawless base then I have the perfect combination for you. It’s the Rainforest of the Sea Foundation with the Shape Tape Concealer, a combination I can always rely on for when I feel my face needs that full glam touch. The foundation is one I picked up a very long time ago from QVC, and is one I’ve been using since the day I got it. This is a water-based medium to full coverage foundation with a matte finish. Never before have I used a water-based foundation, and it is still the only one in my collection. From its fine and runny formula you wouldn’t expect such buildable coverage, but I usually use one layer of this (1-2 pumps) and it gives me a flawless medium to full finish. Although it is a fuller coverage foundation, it lets your skin breathe and feels featherweight on the face. With this I tend to apply it with a Beautyblender as opposed to a brush, as I find this way gives me a more natural and seamless finish. It comes in an incredible array of 21 shades from Porcelain to Mahogany and mine is in the shade Light-Medium Neutral and is a perfect match. This foundation also contains SPF 15.
To finish the base and give an even more flawless finish, I go in with the Shape Tape Concealer to highlight and conceal under my eyes, my cupids bow, chin and centre of the forehead. This is a full coverage concealer, but again feels lightweight on the skin and isn’t cakey at all. This also comes in an amazing range of shades, with 15 to choose from for whether you want to highlight or contour with it. I use the shade Light Neutral to highlight with and I find it perfect for my skin tone. For blending it out, I tend to use my Beautyblender again as it makes the process really quick and easy. The foundation paired with this concealer is honestly a match made in heaven!
For finishing off the face and adding some depth and glow, I adore the Tarteist Pro Glow Palette. I picked this up in New York when I visited earlier this year, and it was top of my list and I’m so glad I got it. This palette is everything you need really to finish off the face with, and maybe a little bit of blusher if you use it. It comes with two contour shades and four highlighters. Of which, one contour shade is cream and the other shades in the palette are powders. I tend to only use the cream contour for fuller glam days, it does blend out really well and is quite a nice shade for my skin tone. The powder contour is one I use for everyday makeup as it’s the perfect neutral shade that I can use as a contour or bronzer. My favourite and most loved part of this palette is of course the highlighters. I love that there is a shade to suit every skin tone, and the versatility of the shades means you can mix and match them as you please. My favourites are Lit (top left) and Strobe (top right) mixed together, which gives the most beautiful golden champagne sheen that you can spot from miles away. The shade Strobe makes any highlighter pop when you use it on top and I don’t think I’ve ever used something quite like it. The highlighters are very finely milled and are strobing instead of glittery, which I prefer. They leave the most beautiful sheen on the skin and there is something here for everyone’s desires.
To finish this post, I have to mention the Tarteist Quick Dry Matte Lip Paints as they are a formula I can’t part with. If you love a matte lip then you’ll love these. It’s not very often you come across ultra matte lip products that are comfortable to wear. However, these from Tarte are super comfortable, long lasting and non-drying. I have three shades, Killin It (berry – bottom), Delish (rosy mauve – middle) and Bestie (deep nude – top), which I have got so much use out of since I purchased them a few months back. My favourite has to be Bestie as it’s one I can wear everyday with any look as it’s the perfect nude/brown and I think so flattering for many skin tones. These lip paints are so full coverage you only need one swipe and the small brush applicator makes it so easy to get an accurate application.
