I must admit, I’m a real sucker for anything glittery. When it comes to doing my makeup its more often than not that I’ll add some sparkle (usually to my eyes) even for a minimal look. I’m obsessed with glittery shadows so when I saw the latest collection by Jouer, it had to be mine.
Their latest release is the Skinny Dip Collection, a beautiful array of new products including a powder highlighter, an eye shadow palette and a brand new lip topper. Of which, I picked up the palette and the lip topper as I have a fair few highlighters quite a similar shade to this one.
The new palette is the Ultra Foil Shimmer Shadow Palette and as you can imagine it is everything any glitter lover would dream of. It comes with 6 new shadows that deliver an intense, shimmering metallic finish. You can really create so many looks with this palette as it comes with a silver, pink, golden and bronze shades. My favourites have to be Tan Lines, a really beautiful antique gold and Midnight Swim, a deep cocoa bronze shade. I sometimes pair these together for a halo eye or use Midnight Swim in the outer V for a smoky effect.
When wearing these I found them quite crease resistant. With most foiled shadows I’ve used I find that after a few hours they transfer onto the skin under my brow and although I’m all for the shimmer, it’s not the most flattering look. These stay put wherever you place them and they seriously don’t budge all day. I tend to apply them with my finger as I feel it picks up the most pigment, however any flat shader brush picks up and applies the product so well to. These work well wet as well if you’re going for more intense glitz and glam, and for that I use my flat shader brush to pick up my product and then spritz MAC Fix + or even water on the brush. Doing it this way round means you won’t ruin the eye shadows in the pan, as I find when you dampen the brush and then put it into the shadow, it can sometimes ruin them. I will most definitely be getting a lot of use out of this and I’m just obsessed with the shades and the rich metallic finish. It’s one for sure I’ll be taking away with me on holiday to as its slim-line sleek golden case makes it so easy to pop into your makeup bag.
Now for the first impressions of the lip topper, as its a product from their range that I’ve also never tried before. It was one of those products I’ve heard so much hype about, so when I placed the order for the palette I couldn’t resist but to get this to. The new Long-Wear Lip Topper is in the shade St.Tropez, a stunning metallic shimmering champagne shade. What I love about this is that you can wear it alone, with just a liner or over any lipstick. Personally, I love to wear this over the top of a nude lipstick, and any lipstick finish works. I was amazed as how long lasting this is over a matte lipstick. Although it’s very rich in pigment, I like to apply a couple of layers of this to get a super opaque shimmer effect. I find it really flattering and easy to wear, it almost gives a metallic lip finish but with more glossiness. I can imagine this will be incredible to wear at festivals or whilst you’re on holiday as well.
The lip toppers are infused with coconut oil, so not only do they smell incredible they are so soft and hydrating on the lips. Even though they are packed with glitter, the formula is really fine and smooth to apply.
I’m going to be able glittered out this summer aren’t I?!
