A GIRLS NIGHT AT THE MONDRIAN LONDON

A girls night in a swanky London bar drinking gin cocktails and eating all the good food with a view, followed by watching Mean Girls in an intimate home cinema, sounds perfect right? Well, it really was.

The January blues were in full swing, getting me down and very unmotivated (especially with the miserable weather). Then, an email popped up in my inbox and instantly made me switch out of the January slump. It was an invite to an event at the Mondrian, which consisted of exactly the above – good food, a girls night, drinking cocktails and watching Mean Girls. It was wonderful and I am so thankful for many reasons.

Seriously, who doesn’t love a cosy night in with snacks, drinks and a good movie? That to me is the idea of the perfect evening. The Mondrian very kindly hosted 20 blogger girlies in just that setting and I couldn’t have felt more at home.

The evening begun in the Mondrian’s rooftop terrace bar, Rumpus Room, where we were greeted with champagne and all sorts of food heaven. From bite-sized burgers to popcorn chicken, bread and dips, lobster rolls and chicken bao (Korean steamed chicken buns). My favourite kind of food is tapas or picky bits, so eating here was ideal for me. I now have to go back and try the rest of the menu because it’s full of goodness. Also, the chefs were just incredible and catered for so many different others dietary requirements, and mine (the gluten-free burgers were v dreamy, as was the gluten-free bread and mint pea dip).

Us girlies chatted and giggled, took photos in their super cute photo booth and got to know each other for a couple of hours (whilst consuming all the delicious food and drinks) before heading down to the Mondrian’s home cinema.

I actually have a yearly tradition to watch Mean Girls around Christmas time (yes, because of the Jingle Bell Rock dance, I just love it) and I didn’t last year so getting this email was so meant to be.

In true Mean Girls style us girls sat and watched with popcorn and wine and pretty much recited the lines one by one, because that’s what us girls do right? It was so much fun and probably the best setting I’ve ever watched one of my fave movies in, I really must do it again sometime.

Events like these are what make me motivated and raring to go. Seeing and chatting to others who are like-minded and blog about similar interests gets me so inspired and also makes me very content. Soppy I know, but it’s the truth. This really did kick the January blues in the butt.

I still can’t believe I’d never been to the Rumpus Room or their home cinema before. It’s always ace when you find somewhere new you love to relax and enjoy in London, especially with an amazing view.

If you’re ever in London looking for a place to chill, eat and drink with friends, this is the place to go. The view over London is just so incredible and I’d highly recommend trying out the cinema if you’ve got all evening to.

A life goal now is to have a home cinema like theirs.

You can view the Mondrian London and all its goodness it has to offer here.

Thank you again for having me – it was so fetch.

Have you ever visited the Mondrian?
