It’s been a while since I sat down and spilled my heart out over a style edit. A very long while in fact. The last time I did something like this was a few months back when I wrote up about something very dear to my heart, accessories (you can read up on that here). Alas, it has been a while but it feels so bloody good to be back.
Typically I am sad to see winter leave, the cosy nights in and hot coffee hour 24/7. But, I am happy to swap the hot coffee for an iced latte (oh I’ve missed you Starbucks almond iced lattes), the big coats for a blazer or soon maybe just a tee? I’m also so grateful that it’s time for accessory season, my favourite style picks of all. You may know by now that I’m a sucker for an accessory, a good bag, piece of jewellery and I’m definitely inclined to a good shoe. My spring-summer style infatuations were sure hard to whittle down but for now, my top 8 go a little something like this.

First up let’s start with something you can wear with everything, golden accessories. My favourite of all. I have moved over recently from changing up my metals and gone for classic rose gold/gold. I feel it adds a bit more character to an outfit and is beautifully paired with the neutral tones I like to wear.
My go to golden gem is this gold watch is my new go to for everyday wear. As I say, I love simple outfits with special touches and this watch does just that. It’s from the Valletta watch from Verdier Watches and with its 36mm black face, it’s elegant but a statement at the same time. It’s a true timepiece and can take you from day to night – with the code MEGAN25 you can get 25% off your purchase.
If I could own one staple jacket this year for spring-summer it would without a doubt be a nude blazer. You can chuck it on with a chill tee, jeans, tailored shorts/trousers/skirts/dresses – you name it, you can wear it with it. It looks a dream with like-toned trousers.
My go to outfit right now is trousers or jeans with a chill tee. Roll it up or tuck it in. This makes the easiest of outfits and can be dressed up with some heels or down with trainers. It looks so effortless with some dressed up accessories. I like to try different textures, hence the infatuation for animal print bags. Adds a little something special to any easy outfit.
another style infatuation for the upcoming months is denim. Again, you can dress it up or down and with there being so many ways you can wear it, how can’t you love a lil denim. I have a huge love for all denim… white denim double denim, black denim and co-ords are the thing for me this season.
I like my spring-summer wardrobe to be a mixture of easy going outfits with a touch of more feminine, refined, chic outfits. They are usually all ones you can dress up or down. The maxi slips are top of my love list right now for dresses. Again, pair with a textured bag and a nude blazer. Easy, quick and effortless.
There are you have it. My 8 spring-summer style infatuations for SS19. A lot of neutrals, a lot of staple pieces and a whole load of goodness to take me through the warmer (fingers crossed) months. Staple items like these are easy to come by when you know what you like, and once you’ve nailed them they can help a lot with your wardrobe.
What are your spring-summer infatuations?
