This post has been one that has been in the making for a little while I must say.

I sat and thought good and hard about what beauty habits I will honestly take into the New Year with me, as it’s quite easy to say you’ll do these things but forget about them, right?

But, now that these habits have been with me a little while now and are my new found loves, I am 99.9999999% certain and I am very willing to stick to them.

First is very important as I put it right here at the top so I cannot forget about it.

Plaits (usually French braids), aka something I need more of in my life. It’s very rare I do anything different to my hair. You know when you get too comfortable with a style and cba to wear anything else, yep that’s me.

So, next year I’m bringing more plaits into my beauty routine. This means I may finally have to learn for myself, because my best friend can’t be on call everyday – or can she?). Anyone with any tips for how to do them yourself and not feel like your arms are going to fall off then please hit me up. I think they’re too cute and anyone can pull them off. I must try out some more variations and actually make an effort with my hair more often.

Fresher makeup. I started this year being the girl who would either go all out with makeup or nothing at all. Its taken me 21 years but I’ve finally got there. I now understand the love for fresher faced makeup.

I brought the love for ‘ heavy evening makeup during the daytime’ into 2017 with me and I’m for sure leaving it behind.

Everyday makeup is finally something I now experiment with – when I can be bothered to do a full face though may I add. I used to think if I was doing my makeup I had to do a smoky eye, winged liner, full contour – you get the idea, the whole works. It got tiring and I fell in love with fresher more minimal makeup.

I’ve found that less base products suits my face better than a full face and wearing less has made me feel more me. Honestly, that is something I never thought I’d say. A few years back I’d feel odd with just a bit of mascara on and would cringe at the fact of doing my makeup without applying foundation. Oh how that’s changed.

Wearing more minimal makeup is actually a blessing in disguise at the end of a long day to as it’s much quicker to remove. It has many benefits I have to admit.

You can see my current makeup routine here in my Winter Makeup Edit.

With fresher makeup I go onto the topic of skincare. I hope that a few skincare newbies and some I’m trying out this month will bring a new and better skincare routine. I came into 2017 with a lazy attitude towards my skincare and it didn’t exactly pay off. I thought I could get away with being quite laid back with it but it resulted in my skin feeling dull, blemish prone and also quite dry sometimes.

Next year I’m aiming to get together my holy grail line up of skincare products for morning and evening and stick to it! Ok, you read it here so it has to happen.

I’ve already found a few new favourites that I’ll be taking into the New Year with me. You can read about one of them here. I don’t go by the ‘New Year, New Me’ rule, I never have. So for now its new year, new skin and I like the sound of that. Brighter skin come at me.

Changing up my scents. Like my skincare routine, I got a bit lazy with my perfumes. As much as I love them, I’d stick to the same one day in day out and when your favourite runs out it’s not fun is it?

This isn’t the real reason I’m changing up my scents (because I’m scared of running out) I just feel a change of scent can really differ your mood for the occasion.

This is one I’ve only been doing for a few weeks now, but I found myself always spraying on the same perfume. Whether it was for an evening out, to pop to town and even for work I’d always grab the same one. I feel that changing up my scent is such a small thing and not necessarily a must people might want to read about but I’m sure theres a few of you out there guilty of the same thing.

Changing up my perfumes will differ my mood and using one a little bit more special for special occasions is what they’re for. I have gathered quite the collection from using the same one to it’s best I start opening them up.

Lastly is one I’ve spoken about before on here but it’s one I never thought I’d want to stick to. However, I am quite addicted to it.

Moisturising my entire body on a daily basis. As simple as this might be to those that have always done it, I know, I’m a bit late to the bandwagon. And for those who think wtf, can I really be bothered? Yes you can.

If it weren’t for my newfound gem I probably wouldn’t have stuck to it for so long. I use the Vaseline Spray & Go Cocoa Radiant Moisturiser. Yes you read that right, a spray on moisturiser. It’s a dream come true.

This spray and go phenomenon is new to me this year it has made its way to being my favourite of all time very quickly. I spray what I need to over my entire body after a bath and rub it all in and its dry within 30-45 seconds, no longer. A miracle I tell ya.

I used to despise the waiting around for it to dry and putting on my clothes to soon and being all sticky. Thankfully, I’ve never had that problem with this. This one for sure is coming into 2018 with me (I’m never letting it go!).

What beauty habits do you see yourself taking into 2018 with you?

I sit here typing up this post listening to the Christmas Classics playlist on Spotify – a.k.a. the best playlist in existence – with my winter essential detox mask on that I just need to tell you about.

Each season brings a different skin issue for me, and throughout the colder months my main concerns are dullness and dry areas that cause blemishes. So of course a new mask on my winter skincare menu is a must and here’s my new favourite…

For a long while I had it stuck in my head that winter facemasks were all about the hydration gel masks, but how very wrong I was.

Welcome Bobbi Brown’s Instant Detox Mask, my new and very much loved companion.

My newest addition to my winter beauty essentials list is far from anything I typically use during the colder months.

A holy grail of mine used to be the GinZing mask from Origins, and although it would do the trick at hydrating and brightening the results would never last quite long enough.

Don’t get me wrong, the Origins mask is a good excuse to do a mask every few days, and you know me, I love a good pamper session at every excuse. But, it’s nice to have a mask in my life for these colder (may I add freezing) months that will last me a good week or more.

The Instant Detox mask uses a unique blend of Hawaiian Sea Water and Amazonian White Clay to help extract toxins and all the nasty gunk from your skin. Not only does it remove all impurities, it works magic on those irritating and hard to manage large pores.

For some reason my pores like to play me up more during the colder months. Maybe I just notice it more when the summer glow diminishes from my face, but lately they were really starting to get on my nerves. Although now, using this around once a week keeps that problem at bay. So far, so good!

After a few uses of this I saw a huge difference in both my pores as they were visibly reduced and also a brighter, softer and cleansed complexion as my skin felt uber soft like a baby’s bottom.

As this mask is for extracting and purifying, it is super important to ensure you hydrate your skin after. This gem deep cleanses and pretty much gives you that ‘been to the spa’ feeling for your face, so all you need to do is pop on your favourite moisturiser, serum and/or oil and you’re good to go.

It’s sleek tube packaging is easy to take away with you and the perfect solution to know how much you’ve got left. The squeezy tube is like nothing I’ve seen for a mask before and is something I actually really love about the product. There’s nothing worse than getting to the end of a favourite product and not knowing you’re about to run out is there. The squeezy tube means you can get every last bit out to, yay.

My favourite time to use this is in the evenings, usually in the bath (of course, where else?) and I pop on Bobbi Brown’s Intensive Skin Supplement straight after removing the mask to add instant hydration and nourishment. I’ll be speaking about this little gem in an upcoming post soon, don’t you worry. Sit tight, I’m pretty sure many of you will want to know about it if you love a naturally dewy and brighter complexion.

Although this is a clay mask, a type of mask known to usually be for oily skin types, this one is made for all. Lucky to as that means everyone can enjoy a bit of this goodness.

Shop this mask and many others here.

What is your winter detox essential?

Fresh face beauty is something I’ve seriously grown to love.

Yes, minimal makeup is the ‘lazy route’ without a doubt but I also love the feel of it, the fresher more glowy skin and also finding new products for it.

I used to go all out or nothing everyday. I found it impossible to just pop on some concealer, a lick of mascara and lip balm and head out the door. Yep, every morning I’d do an entire full base, winged eyeliner and matte lipstick without fail. In the end I got really bored of it and found a more suitable makeup look that I feel good in and I’m carrying it through to winter with me to make sure I don’t fall back into my old habits.

If like me you would rather a quick and easy routine in the morning and to leave the house feeling fresher faced and ready for the day, I hope you can find some goodies to try out in my winter makeup routine.

I’ll now cut the waffling and get right into it shall I?

My new and updated routine contains very few products in comparison to what I was using, and here are my current favourites…

Make Up For Ever Step 1 Primer; This is an absolute must have for dehydrated winter skin. Not only does this primer prep your face for the entire day/night, it also blur blemishes and adds an instant surge of moisturise that lasts all day. A pea-sized amount of this is all you need and you’re good to go!

I skip the foundation part so feel free to add whichever is your preference. I feel primer and concealer is all anyone needs for a fresher face – and lets face it, the winter chill does wonders for your skin.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer; This lil gem is my go to for covering blemishes and hiding those god-awful panda eyes. I dab a small amount onto my ring fingers, warm it up by tapping them together a few times and dab onto the areas that need concealing. Quick, easy and effective so you can’t go wrong. This range of concealers from Urban Decay also comes in various shades for various issues such as redness and fatigue.

MAC Give Me Sun; A bronzer I use all year round to give me the sun kissed glow I desire. This warm toned bronzer is one I use all over the face, more so on the forehead and cheekbones to add some colour into my skin.

A big fluffy brush is most effective to apply this with!

Cover FX Enhancer Drops; These highlighting drops are something I can’t do my makeup without. As I like to use an equal mix of powder and liquid products I find a liquid highlighter sits so well with that glowing winter skin look. These drops are so pigmented you need to smallest amount possible and stay put whatever the weather.

Or, I either use Benefit’s GALifornia or Fenty Beauty Shimmer Skin Stix in Ridiic.

Benefit Brows; I like to mix up my brow routine so this isn’t the same everyday I have to admit. If my brows have been threaded and tinted I’ll stick to my trusty old Gimme Brow to keep them in place. Or, if they need some TLC I’ll use Benefit’s Precisely, My Brow Pencil to add some definition.

Urban Decay’s Naked Heat Palette; This warm toned palette is all I’ve been using for the past couple of months, I seriously can’t let it go. Its warm oranges and burnt shimmers are all I need to create all the warm looks I love. Can’t go wrong really!

I have a couple of mascara faves and most days I like to mix two…

IT Cosmetics Superhero Mascara; This is one I rely on for volume and length. This is a jet-black mascara to add the most amazing definition to your lashes.

Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Mascara; Then, I go in with this. I usually use this as my last coat to add more length and also comes with a great wand for the bottom lashes. If I add to choose just one it would be this.

Make Up For Ever Mist and Fix; This setting spray is my new favourite and I simply can’t finish my makeup without it. I find it locks everything, hydrates my skin and is also one I use to refresh my skin if it needs it throughout the day. This is a very handbag friendly size to, which is a bonus.

Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb; I wear this gloss all day every day, I’m hooked. This is a gloss that doesn’t give you that icky sticky feeling and adds a stunning bronze effect to your lips, which I think is so perfect for the Christmas season.

There we have it, my winter makeup routine. It might seem a few fair products but it only takes 15 minutes max and leaves my skin still looking like skin and lasts me for the entire day, with the occasional lip gloss top up.

What are your winter beauty favourites?

Good morning, good afternoon, good evening, wherever you are in the world. How are you?

Today I finally have something new to show you on my beauty menu and it feels so good to be writing a beauty post again, it certainly feels like too long.

Now that summer is over and all the new trends are rolling in in the makeup world, I’m (about darn time) feeling excited about makeup again. I haven’t worn foundation in the longest time now, I must admit. I’ve gone the entire summer without it and my face just feels so much fresher without it. So, primers, concealers and all that jazz have been my go to.

I had to open my laptop and start writing because I suddenly realised I needed to tell you about my favourite duo of the moment. Funnily enough, I was just fantasizing about makeup, as you do, and had the urge to discuss.

So…

You know when you’ve a good few damn good beauty products that make you question how you lived without them? Yep, that’s what today’s blog post is all about. I’ve got two seriously dreamy products that work wonders for prepping and setting your makeup, no matter the base.

Make Up For Ever have never actually done me wrong so it’s no surprise I loved these products I’m about to tell you all about.

Seeing as I haven’t been wearing foundation, a primer is my saviour to hydrated my face before applying powder based products. Their Step 1 Primer is one of the most effective smoothing primers I’ve used yet. As I’m not using anything more than concealer to hide blemishes, a good primer is essential to help me out that bit further.

Although the Step 1 Primer is super lightweight and quite fine, once applied it turns into a hydrating gel-like primer that instantly blurs most things I need it to. Of course, this stuff can’t hide a spot but it hides imperfections and any texture I’ve got going on.

As far as my base is concerned, it stays put all day and I find it mattifies my skin and keeps my oily T-zone at bay whilst keeping my face hydrated and smooth. This is a real multi-tasker I have to say.

Then it’s onto the very last step in your makeup routine… setting spray. A.k.a. the product I can’t live without.

Make Up For Ever’s Mist and Fix Setting Spray is one of those products I feel lost without if I don’t use it to finish my makeup. To me, a setting spray is essential and my makeup doesn’t feel done until it’s on so I really can’t miss this step. It’s like forgetting to butter your toast, you just don’t do it do you.

I find some setting sprays a bit hit and miss. All of them, which I’ve tried, have always been hydrating. You just can’t beat that freshen up and coolness on your face after you’ve finished your makeup.

But, this Make Up For Ever one just feels like it actually does something – you know what I mean? Once you spritz a few pumps all over your face everything seems to come together, it honestly feels so great. It gives me that YES feeling, hence why I can’t finish my makeup without it.

It does indeed set your makeup and it makes it last a heck of a lot longer. In my opinion I think this has to be my favourite of all time and I’m really afraid for it to run out but it’s a definite repurchase, that’s for sure.

Prepping and setting my makeup has never felt so good.

You can have a little browse of the goodies here.

What are your prepping and finishing products?

The nights are getting darker, the air is getting chillier and you know what that calls for? More cosy nights in.

Don’t get me wrong, I had many cosy nights in throughout summer but when the autumn is here those nights feel that bit more special and a bit more needed. Don’t ya think?

I’ve recently rekindled with my fluffy socks and dressing gowns and become even more obsessed with an evening pamper. There’s nothing quite like a night-time pamper when the darker nights close in and this is a time when you can really indulge in those heavenly scented, moisture rich products.

My ultimate pamper session always involves a long warm bath, especially during the colder months. These pampers in the tub have kinda quickly become an evening ritual (maybe even an essential) and I can’t help but indulge. I much prefer to whip on a quick face mask and hop in the bath and get a good half hour or so’s worth of relaxation, rather than doing my nails and that kinda long winded stuff. Maybe that’s just laziness, but relaxing for me is when you allow yourself do the bare minimum and give yourself some TLC.

Typically for a mask at this time of year I’d go for something hydrating as well as maybe exfoliating and brightening. My favourites for that are the Lush Let The Good Times Roll, Quick Fix Facials Exfoliating Scrub Mask or any from Origins (I find they do the best job at instantly hydrating my face).

Then onto the bath products I use, maybe my most favourite part of it all. I love to use richer products in the A/W months so that my skin gets all the moisture it needs and I find the sweeter autumnal scents tend to be thicker and creamier, so the more the merrier.

Now onto the best part, the in-the-tub essentials. My choice of bath-time bliss at the moment is to use a relaxing bath cream followed by some bubbles, usually a mixture of what’s on the side of the tub. I always shop for the bath filling products that say ‘relaxing’ for these kinda eves, it just feels right.

Then, for my fave part, the cleansing products. I absolutely cannot use anything else other than autumnal scents when it’s an autumnal pamper evening, it just makes sense doesn’t it?

At the minute my favourite to use is the Being by Sanctuary Salted Caramel and Macadamia Body Wash. Seriously, this stuff smells so good I wanna eat it. Since having this I’ve been eager to bake to, probably some salted caramel cupcakes – yum!

Once out of the tub I love to moisturise pretty much as soon as I’m dry and my go to is the Vaseline Cocoa Butter Moisture Spray. This stuff is not only hydrating but extremely fast drying, meaning I can snuggle in my pjs and dressing gown right away. I’ve got it all sussed haven’t I?

Every so often I like to go that extra step and indulge in a little body mist and pat myself down before moisturising. The Being by Sanctuary Water Lotus & Pomelo Body Mist is my spray of choice as it’s lightweight and again, fast drying, so I can get straight on with getting cosy.

I always always apply a hand cream after my bath, its a ritual of mine and ensures everywhere is hydrated and cared for. Another favourite from the Being by Sanctuary range is the Cloudberry and Lychee Blossom Hand Cream. Throughout the past few months before the Salted Caramel body wash came into my life, I swore by the Cloudberry body wash so it’s understandable why I love the hand cream.

Once the comfies are on, I’m settled down for the eve and with a fill in hand, my autumnal pamper session has put me in the mood to watch a film. Sounds good eh?

What is your favourite autumnal evening ritual?

Its October, can you believe it? Where on earth did September go?

Autumn is here. The leaves have turned orange, there’s a slight crispness to the mornings that I’ve very much missed and I’m already obsessed with all the cosy nights in.

Although September flashed by in what seemed like a round about 0.5 seconds (slight exaggeration but I bet you feel me), there were a lot of new things that I discovered which are now some of my new in favourites that I can’t seem to get enough of. I always know when something is going to be a long term favourite when I use it every single day without fail, and feel like I have failed if I haven’t used it. You get me?

I’m still going minimal on the makeup, I’m just finding it easier to do so, but there’s been a few new in skincare bits as well as many autumnal things so let’s jump in.

I can’t really start off the list without mentioning my new love, my new companion that I can’t go a day without. The (soy) Chai Tea Latte from Starbucks, where have I been? Why have I not tried this before? This little cup of heaven is literally me in a drink, it couldn’t be anymore spot on if it tried. Its blend of milk with cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, cloves and all that autumnal goodness is what I call perfection.

Really, I wish this last years September favourite or even the year before that (if they’ve been going that long) because I wish it had been in my life for longer. Ever since I tried one couple of weeks back, I can’t go into Starbucks without getting one. Yes, I may have wept a little when the barista told me the other day that they had run out of try. Honestly, its true love.

Now that October is here and the summers sunshine has said goodbye until next year, I can’t help but do everything humanely possible to keep my tan. Sad, I know. But there’s nothing I love more than feeling glowy without having to apply much makeup. After my trip to the Dominican Republic I immediately got my last years fave moisturiser out the cupboard, the Vaseline Cocoa Butter Spray Moisturiser. Whether you want to keep your glow or simply love easy to use skincare, then this is a go to.

Not only is this formula super fast drying, it literally dries in under 30 seconds, its incredibly hydrating and smells like a dream. For some reason, this stuff works better at keeping a tan than after sun does and it doesn’t break the bank so I’m all about it. I like to use this everyday after showering to at least attempt to keep a glow alive.

How can one transition into autumn and not mention candles? Because I can’t.

The past few weeks I have admittedly been hunting down all the autumnal candles and I’ve found a good few bargains in Sainsburys and TK Maxx. I must say, Sainsburys have good the warming scents down to a T, my favourite being the Spiced Pumpkin & Chestnut one. I’m one of those who attempt to restrain from lighting a candle as I hate ruining its pristine flat surface and clean wick, but I couldn’t hold back from this. I got it straight home and filled my house with the scent and now I’m probably going to head out later today and get some more. I’m in love and its also really getting me in the autumnal mood.

Of course now that its time to change up your autumn wardrobe I’ve been all over purchasing some new bits. There are so many high street stores with beautiful autumnal clothes in at the minute and I’ve been obsessing over jumper dresses and over the knee boots to go with it. Jumper dresses are so snuggly and warm whilst looking chic and well put together at the same time. You can read my post here all about how I wear them, why I love them and how I like to style them.

I have to admit, the boot obsession may be becoming an issue. I lived in flip flops throughout the summer so now that I can wear boots I just want to treat myself to some nice new shoes. I don’t have the biggest wardrobe space either so if I continue to buy new shoes, no more are gonna fit so it’s been a task trying to find staple boots to fit with many different outfits.

I excuse my obsession with the fact that a good pair of shoes can jazz up any outfit. A pair of over the knee boots can be worn with a jumper dress, a skirt, jeans or whatever you fancy, so that’s my reason (excuse) to treat myself to them.

What did you love in September?

September is here, autumn is coming but first, we need to talk about the latest Glossybox.

Now I’m no longer a student, September isn’t a time where I have to play around with my new stationary bits (although I do miss that). September is a time where I rejig my makeup bag and update my skincare routine ready for the autumn that will soon be here.

The September edition of the Glossybox* has brought me many new brands and beauty products I’ve never before tried, so it’s all pretty exciting.

First up, let’s talk about the latest and greatest beauty trend making its way through the beauty gurus of the Internet, the silicone blender. Glossybox have gifted each of their subscribers a Siligel Blender by STYLondon and I’ve been waiting ages to try this out for myself.

These have become popular in the beauty market for their hygienic promises. This is because the blender requires less foundation as it doesn’t absorb product like sponges do. You can use it to apply either cream or liquid products and whichever you decide to use you only need half the amount as usual.

From first impressions the blender is actually a lot softer that I thought it would be. It works the same as other beauty blenders do, in that you use the wide side for the larger areas of the face and the smaller edges for smaller areas. I applied a BB cream with this and I found it left a smooth and even finish, which to be honest I didn’t expect. As it said I only needed half the amount of product and I am so impressed with the finish. It does just feel a bit weird on the skin as opposed to a normal beauty sponge.

Now to discover the other four products in this months Glossybox…

When I opened up the box and saw Pixi by Petra inside, I was so happy. I hadn’t yet tried anything from the makeup so the Brow Tamer was my first insight into the range. I am obsessed.

Their Brow Tamer is transparent and is perfect for when I fill my brows in and don’t want to add any more colour. The gel formula is incredible at holding down those unruly hairs and they stay in place all day. It doesn’t dry hard like some do either as it leaves them feeling natural. Love!

For those who love an easy to follow skincare routine, Glossybox have got you covered with the Cetaphil Mini Skincare Trio. I had never heard of this brand and when I did a bit of research I found out they use this backstage at catwalks shows! Good enough for models, then certainly good enough for me.

This kit comes with three mini-sized products to help you with cleansing and moisturising in three easy steps. The cleanser offers gentle cleansing by removing all the nastiness buy amoxil cheap from your skin without stripping away the skins protective oils. Its quite cooling on the skin so I find it really refreshing at the end of a long day, and you can use this on your hands, face and body. Step 2 is a Moisturising Cream is a face cream designed for normal to problematic skin. The formula is non greasy and quick to dry so I’d use this of a morning under my makeup. Then, step 3 is a Moisturising Lotion, which is designed for all skin types (even sensitive and dry) and is to be used on the body. Again, it’s fast drying and soothing on the skin to help with hydration levels.

Glossybox really are serious with helping you get all the skincare you need for the coming months. Another skincare product in the box is a beautiful facial oil from Monu Skincare. Monu Skincare is a UK based natural skincare brand who offer all sorts of beauty products from skincare to makeup. This facial oil contains plant oils that work their magic to protect, nourish and protect your skin. Its blend of Bois de Rose and Patchouli oils make the oil smell so calming and do in fact contain calming properties.

Monu recommend using this of in the evening so that you can wake up to refreshed and brighter skin. If you have drier skin then this could work in the mornings to as its lightweight and sinks into the skin fairly quick. I like to massage this into my skin in upwards-circular motions. After using this just a few times I already know it’s gonna be a winner for autumn!

Last but not least is a natural whitening toothpaste by Taylor’s 32. I don’t usually agree with whitening toothpastes, as a lot of them are either gritty or taste very strange. But this one feels, smells and tastes like regular toothpaste (with a little fruity grapefruit twist) and does an amazing job at cleaning your teeth and gums. From what I’ve tried so far, it does make your teeth appear pearly and white but this doesn’t seem to be a permanent whitening product. I think I’m really going to like this for making my teeth look and feel super clean on a daily basis.

The lovely team at Glossybox popped in a little sweet treat this month, which of course I had to eat straight after photographing it. My old favourite, a velvety smooth Kinder Bueno was sat at the top of the box when I opened it. Yum!

Want to get your hands on a Glossybox for yourself? You can shop the box here.

I think its safe to say that the British summer is failing quite miserably this year isn’t it? We had a few very hot days and not much else since, apart from grey cloud, some rain and miserable ol’ wind. I must admit, I am quite the sun worshipper so when the sun disappears I get very sad and don’t want to face the colder weather. Trust me when I say if I could live in a hot climate all year round, I really would.

This year in particular I just seem to crave sun and the glow that comes with it all the time. As the British sun is hiding away, I’ve been having to make and fake that sun kissed glow myself and I’ve managed to pull through so far with a little help from some Too Faced goodies.

Too Faced really are a saving grace when it comes to feel good makeup. Many of my daily makeup picks are from Too Faced and I have indeed made a few new favourites over the past month or so. When the summer hit, (well, those very few days we did get treated to) I knew it wasn’t going to last forever, so I’ve added these products into my routine so I never have to let go of that summer makeup feel.

Admittedly, I am a bit of a bronzer fiend. I love tanned skin all throughout the year and the Too Faced Endless Summer 16 Hour Bronzer really ticks all of the boxes for my sun kissed cravings. This has the perfect warm bronze hue to it that I love to wear all over the face, sometimes even on my chest, which really makes you feel like you’ve been away somewhere hot. Its pigment is quite perfect and I like to apply it with a large fluffy brush to make it appear more natural, like I have a bronzed buy priligy generic flush. I’m also a huge fan of the Chocolate Soleil Bronzer when I like to add a bit of contour as that has slightly greyer undertones. The 16 Hour Long-Wear is a lot warmer toned, which gives me that glow that I crave.

Adding to the ‘not willing to let go of summer’ theme, one I’ve been obsessed with is the Waterproof Better Sex Mascara. I am a huge fan of the original Better Than Sex, so I was very intrigued by what this version could offer. To be quite honest, I don’t usually get on with waterproof mascaras as they can be so difficult to remove, but this one has worked a dream. It performs in the same way the original does (which is bloody brilliant in my books), in that it gives long fluffy full natural lashes AND its super easy to remove. The only difference is, the waterproof version obviously doesn’t budge when your lashes get wet (very suitable to this wet weather we’re having here in the UK). See what I mean? I just need products to let this summer even feel present!

For the summer, there’s nothing I love more than a juicy glossy lip and for that I’ve been using their Sweet Peach Creamy Lip Gloss Oil in Papa Don’t Peach. This is a medium copper toned peach gloss. If you love brown lips then I highly recommend this to you. These lip-gloss oils are so comfortable to wear, highly pigmented and incredibly long lasting. I love that these feel hydrating instead of sticky and irritating, especially for when the wind gets up!

Guys and girls, I’m really not willing to let go of summer, are you?!

Hello lovelies and welcome back to a new post. Gosh it feels so weird having a little break from it all but it was much needed. After I came back from holiday I started job hunting and trying to get back on track, and with daily blogging straight for over 6 and a half months, I think I just needed a little time away. It’s helped me find my motivation and mojo again, so it was all worth it.

I’m back with a new travel/fashion post. Whilst I was away and during the past weeks off, I’ve thought a lot about switching up my content more and sharing more about me and what I love as well as beauty. Fashion and travel are becoming huge passions of mine to and I have so many ideas it’s quite motivating. Changing up my content is something I’ve been thinking about for a while and I hope you enjoy it. Now, let’s get into it.

A few weeks back I embarked on my first ever trip to the Caribbean. It’s a destination I always thought I was far off from being able to travel to, but when we found the perfect trip to the Dominican Republic it just had to be ours. We stayed at Excellence El Carmen in Punta Cana, a 5-star luxury resort that was far away from everything, which in my opinion is pure paradise. When I travel I like to get lost in myself and relax, explore and soak it all up. Since finishing University in May I’ve needed an escape from it all and this was my treat for surviving the past 3 years and coming out with a degree!

Our hotel was located right on a private beach, so to my liking much of the trip was spent relaxing by the ocean or the pool.

However, as I said I do love to explore. For a day trip we decided to head out and visit Samana, a mountainous buy cheap ventolin online terrain located on the northeastern Atlantic coast of the island. In this part of the island, we spent the morning travelling to Samana on a Catamaran, visiting a local plantation farm and trekking through the jungle on horseback to a beautiful waterfall – all of which I’ll be writing a separate post on as it was an experience I HAVE to share in great detail. It was just insane. I never thought i’d horseback in the Caribbean let alone through a jungle?!

From there on we headed to Bacardi Island, also known as Cayo Levantado, a teeny tiny remote island with stunning turquoise waters and white sand beaches. When we hopped off the Catamaran and stepped foot on the island I thought I’d died and gone to heaven. The island was so quiet and unpopulated it really was true paradise. After dipping into the blue waters and soaking up the sun we decided to fly the drone and take a look at the surroundings, which by the way totally blew my mind. Once the drone had flown up just a few seconds the entire island was in shot, putting into perspective how remote it really is.

I could honestly live on a remote island like Cayo Levantado as I was seriously in my element and didn’t want to leave. Fresh coconuts and constant sunshine? Yes please. Living in swimwear wouldn’t be too bad either, better than having to wear jumpers and sweats throughout our British summer ay?

This bikini I managed to get my hands on was a lifesaver for this trip. Not only was it a complete bargain, it felt so luxurious and complimenting. I’ve never felt so comfortable in swimwear as I have with this. You can find it (and similar pieces) below.

Want to see and hear more about my tropical vacation? Stay tuned!

What is paradise to you?

I’m not going to lie, when it comes to packing my makeup bag I used to be uber obsessive. I used to take endless amounts of makeup products that I didn’t need. Three foundations, ten lipsticks, three different eyeshadow palettes – a bit excessive, right? Then, after the first day of being there, my foundation no longer matches and I want to be as minimal with my makeup as possible in the heat. This time around I’m changing the game and taking as little as possible. So if you’re an over packer to, then my new minimal makeup bag packing tips might sway you to take only what you’ll need.

I only ever wear makeup in the evening, as I like to be barefaced during the day, so here’s what I’m taking with me this year.

First. If you’re going somewhere super hot and you’re gonna get sticky, I’d suggest to either not take a foundation or take a BB cream. It’s unbelievable how many times I’ve taken foundations away with me and not used them, so this year I’m not taking one. To prep the skin I’ll be using a dewy primer as I love a true glow on holiday, and I’ll be taking a the L’Oreal Lumi Magique Primer as I recently rediscovered this and am obsessed again. It adds instant glow and also looks so pretty worn alone. I generally stick to using a bit of concealer to hide any spots or blemishes and that’s the base done. My favourite for this is the Urban Decay Naked Concealer as it’s so lightweight and becomes invisible to the eye. Two products and that’s the base done.

When you’re on holiday there’s nothing quite like a bronze glow. For that I tend to stick with my trusty MAC Gimme Sun Bronzer as it’s dark enough to bronze up my skin no matter what tan I achieve. It also sits so well on bare skin and doesn’t feel powdery. To get that ultimate glow I’ll of course be taking a blinding highlight duo, consisting of the Cover FX Custom Enhancer Drops in Sunlight and Anastasia Beverly Hills Highlight in So Hollywood – this is my go to for a golden glow! For a pop of added colour on the cheeks I’ll use my favourite Benefit GALifornia Blush, a pretty peach shade that is beautiful with sunkissed skin. Then to finish the face you can’t forget the setting spray, especially in the heat, and I’ll be taking the Urban Decay All Nighter away with me as it does wonders for locking your makeup into place all evening.

Instead of taking a heap of palettes that really never even make it out of the suitcase, I’m taking just one. Yes you read it right, one! I’ve chose to take the trusty Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette, as burnt orange and chocolate shades are my go to for holiday. With the matte shades are some beautiful shimmers and you can really create so many looks from this one palette. You can go for a subtle gold shimmery eye to a smoky deep brown, so I really do trust buy accutane 10mg this to get me through the two weeks. When I got this I used it for weeks without using anything else, so I’m pretty sure it’ll do me justice. To prime the lids I’ll use my concealer as I always do and set it with the Nars Translucent Powder, which will be used for the face sometimes to (this powder is so versatile and is great for light packing).

I don’t actually wear liquid or kohl liner at the minute, so I can skip that part and it’s straight onto the lashes. For more minimal days I’ll stick by the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara as it adds amazing length and volume so fast. When I want to dress my face up a bit more I’ll be using my favourite Ardell Wispies.

I’ll be keeping it quite simple for the lips with a nude liner and lipstick, probably MAC Spice and Tarte’s Matte Lip Paint in Bestie. For a brighter lip I’ll be using the oh so beautiful Sydney Amaryllis matte liquid lipstick from The Body Shop, which is a bright coral that looks so pretty with bronzed skin. For a bit of sass I’ll be throwing in Jouer’s Lip Topper in St Tropez that is super pigmented and leaves your lips a shimmering champagne shade.

How many products was that, 15? As opposed to the 30+ I used to take, I think I’ve done pretty well. This all fits into my cute Skinny Dip Peach makeup bag WITH lots of room for other stuff (as opposed to the huge bag double this size that I used to take).

Along with the makeup, you can’t forget all the essential makeup brushes and tools, but for those I’m also taking as little as I can. Of course my priority is my Beautyblender as I can’t go anywhere with it and for the bronze and glow I’ll use a fluffy bronzer brush and Zoeva Fan Brush.

My eye brushes will consist of a large fluffy blender, small crease brush and inner corner highlight. I love to pack on the lid colour with my finger as it picks up more pigment and also means one less brush! I pack all of my brushes along with the other tools in my Blank Canvas Cosmetics Compact Upright Pouch, a super handy storage tool for any makeup kit. You can read all about it here.

I also ALWAYS pack a few tools, as you never know what you might need whilst you’re away. This includes:

Tweezers – for those flyaway brows / Small scissors – can be used for anything & A Spoolie Brush – to comb through the brows and lashes.

That’s my holiday makeup bag done! Honestly, that’s a quarter of the makeup I used to take. Why did I feel the need to take half my collection for one face? I really have no idea. If you’re an over packer I hope this little list of product I’m taking away with me inspires you to pack less!

What’s your go to evening holiday makeup look?

VIKTOR AND ROLF FLOWERBOMB

The past few weeks have been quite a whirlwind for me. The biggest thing that happened last month was handing in my dissertation and finishing University. It does terrify me thinking how fast 3 years have whizzed past, but since finishing I’ve finally been able to have some quality time for myself. You know what that means, there has been a fair few bits I’ve been loving, want to see?

First up has to be the sunshine. I know it comes and goes in this unpredictable English weather, but since the sun has been shining a bit more it makes me super excited for the summer months ahead. The sun just makes everything a bit more positive and makes me want to get out and be more active. It also inspires me to get more out of my day and with the longer daylight hours.

Summer fragrances. For the beauty section this month my most favourite has to be fragrances. I’m usually one for using the same perfume day in day out, but lately I’ve been switching it up almost everyday. I do have a larger collection than last year and it’s nice to pick and choose depending on my mood. A must have for the past few spring like weeks has to be the latest edition to Viktor and Rolf’s Flowerbomb Range called Bloom*. This fragrance is so light, floral and feminine and sits so well with a fresh warm day. You can read more about it here. I just think summer perfumes are so fun and so many bring back summer holiday memories.

Speaking of light and fresh summer beauty products, I’ve been loving wearing more minimal makeup as well as being fresh faced. I am a sucker for dewy skin and for this I love the Nip + Fab Dragon’s Blood Range. For everyday I use the Fix Hyaluronic Shot, which is a super lightweight serum that boosts your skins hydration levels and leaves you with super soft and glowy skin. I also love to use their Serum and Cleansing Pads. I find this range is full of quick fix products that are also affordable and incredible quality.

This past month or so I’ve been really getting into my exercise and going to the gym regularly. For me, exercise is a way to unwind and de-stress and is the main buy amoxicillin online uk reason I go 5/6 times a week. It helps me focus and without it I can become quite uninspired, even going for a long walk helps me clear my head and gather my thoughts. Exercise doesn’t always have to be painful and vigorous either. I change my exercises up quite a bit and try different techniques from stretching and yoga to heavy weights. It’s good to change up your workout routine as 1) you won’t get bored and 2) you can find out what works best for you.

Journalling. I bought myself a gorgeous diary last month in the sale at Homesense, a bit late in the year I know, but it’s so pretty I couldn’t resist for just £5 when originally it was £40. It comes with separate notes sections as well as inspiring words and quotes, and it’s really helped me organise my blog schedule as well as write ideas down and journal my everyday thoughts. I always enjoy using pretty stationary to, so if you’re looking for one to I’d recommend heading to Homesense or TK Maxx.

Although I don’t dress up that often, I’ve really been obsessed with heeled mules. Over the past month or so I’ve actually bought quite a few and they just make me want to get dressed up and head out somewhere fancy for the day. What I love about heeled mules is that you can dress them up or down and they look so classic. There are so many variations out there at the minute, and I’m constantly searching ASOS for some new ones. I just can’t get enough.

In terms of food I’ve been loving, because how can I talk about my favourite things without mentioning food, are breakfast bowls. Now that the mornings are a lot lighter I’ve been enjoying making fresher and lighter breakfasts, such as fruit bowls and various granola combinations. I’m one of those that will go to bed at night dreaming of my breakfast and I get so happy when I can finally eat it. Changing up my breakfasts actually makes me enjoy eating early to, and I find breakfast the most important and enjoyable meal of the day now!

What have you been loving lately?

With lipstick being my number one beauty staple, there’s no wonder I have to dedicate an entire post to a current favourite. I’m quite the liquid lipstick girl, so when I discover a new bullet lipstick that I really love, it’s quite a big thing for me. Charlotte Tilbury recently launched some limited edition shades for Valentines, and I picked up the shade Pillow Talk.

Before purchasing this limited edition shade, I was already a huge fan of the brand. I have several shades and finishes from Charlotte Tilbury, with the Matte Revolution range being my favourite, which is why I went for Pillow Talk. It’s a luminous matte in a nudey-pink shade, which is so flattering and feminine. This shade launched to pair with the cult classic Pillow Talk Lip Cheat Lip Liner, which is still a go to in my collection and is in fact my first ever purchase from the brand. You can wear buy doxycycline online no prescription these together or alone, as the lipstick bullet has an angled square tip that gives you controlled precision.

The Matte Revolution lipsticks are like nothing I’ve tried before. With many matte lipsticks from a bullet they can be quite tough to put on, or when you build them to get the desired pigmentation they crumble, but you don’t get that with these. Although they are matte they are really creamy and glide on, as they do over lip liners to. One thing I am impressed with is the staying power, for some reason this shade lasts a little longer than my others, around 6 hours with eating and drinking. The only reason I’m more of a liquid lip girl is they last longer, but no shade can contest with this – it’s so darn beautiful! Also, don’t even get me started on the packaging!

Have you ever tried the Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks?
