I sit here typing up this post listening to the Christmas Classics playlist on Spotify – a.k.a. the best playlist in existence – with my winter essential detox mask on that I just need to tell you about.

Each season brings a different skin issue for me, and throughout the colder months my main concerns are dullness and dry areas that cause blemishes. So of course a new mask on my winter skincare menu is a must and here’s my new favourite…

For a long while I had it stuck in my head that winter facemasks were all about the hydration gel masks, but how very wrong I was.

Welcome Bobbi Brown’s Instant Detox Mask, my new and very much loved companion.

My newest addition to my winter beauty essentials list is far from anything I typically use during the colder months.

A holy grail of mine used to be the GinZing mask from Origins, and although it would do the trick at hydrating and brightening the results would never last quite long enough.

Don’t get me wrong, the Origins mask is a good excuse to do a mask every few days, and you know me, I love a good pamper session at every excuse. But, it’s nice to have a mask in my life for these colder (may I add freezing) months that will last me a good week or more.

The Instant Detox mask uses a unique blend of Hawaiian Sea Water and Amazonian White Clay to help extract toxins and all the nasty gunk from your skin. Not only does it remove all impurities, it works magic on those irritating and hard to manage large pores.

For some reason my pores like to play me up more during the colder months. Maybe I just notice it more when the summer glow diminishes from my face, but lately they were really starting to get on my nerves. Although now, using this around once a week keeps that problem at bay. So far, so good!

After a few uses of this I saw a huge difference in both my pores as they were visibly reduced and also a brighter, softer and cleansed complexion as my skin felt uber soft like a baby’s bottom.

As this mask is for extracting and purifying, it is super important to ensure you hydrate your skin after. This gem deep cleanses and pretty much gives you that ‘been to the spa’ feeling for your face, so all you need to do is pop on your favourite moisturiser, serum and/or oil and you’re good to go.

It’s sleek tube packaging is easy to take away with you and the perfect solution to know how much you’ve got left. The squeezy tube is like nothing I’ve seen for a mask before and is something I actually really love about the product. There’s nothing worse than getting to the end of a favourite product and not knowing you’re about to run out is there. The squeezy tube means you can get every last bit out to, yay.

My favourite time to use this is in the evenings, usually in the bath (of course, where else?) and I pop on Bobbi Brown’s Intensive Skin Supplement straight after removing the mask to add instant hydration and nourishment. I’ll be speaking about this little gem in an upcoming post soon, don’t you worry. Sit tight, I’m pretty sure many of you will want to know about it if you love a naturally dewy and brighter complexion.

Although this is a clay mask, a type of mask known to usually be for oily skin types, this one is made for all. Lucky to as that means everyone can enjoy a bit of this goodness.

Shop this mask and many others here.

Happy Wednesday my loves.

Today’s post is getting me all excited for the weekend again as it’s about something I love doing at the weekends – eating lots and lots of good food.

Not so long ago I booked my and my best friend in for an Afternoon Tea at the Balthazar London in Covent Garden. I searched the Internet for hours and hours for afternoon teas with a bit of a twist. There were tonnes of Disney inspired ones, London themed but never before had I seen a beauty one, so of course I was all over it. I haven’t seen many (if any at all) afternoon teas themed around the beauty world. So, if like me you love all things beauty and everything food, you may be ready to book at the end of this. Get prepared for the drool worthy food.

What caught my eye was that it was Bobbi Brown inspired. With many afternoon teas in London being focused on a theme, I just had to book this one in and was the perfect celebration meal.

Bobbi Brown is a brand I grew up adoring and still love today and fortunately, the tea translated the brands elegance and class.

The venue was one I hadn’t been to before, and now know they are super popular in Covent Garden. The restaurant was quite busy as it was a sunny Saturday afternoon that we went, but we were sat towards the back in a quieter part of the restaurant at the back on the most gorgeous plush red leather sofas. From that moment, I knew the tea was going to be all class and sophistication, which is exactly what I’d hoped for seeing as it was a treat for a friend. Also, it’s good to be prim and proper every once in a while, eh?

I’d seen some pictures of the food on the tea menu before going (I’m one of those who can’t go anywhere without stalking the Instagram and the menu about 50 times beforehand), and it really lived up to what it showed online.

For those who suffer with any allergies such as dairy or gluten, there’s no need to have concerns about this afternoon tea. I know how much of a bummer it can be when they don’t offer free from foods! Balthazar understood my gluten sensitivity straight away and did everything they could to make sure I was happy. They made each of the cakes gluten free, the scones, the bread and also went to the length of giving me my own cream, jam and new cutlery for the scones so I didn’t doxycycline have to mix it with my friends.

Now, onto whats included because I know you’re all here to drool…

Each of the cakes were made to look like some of the most famous Bobbi Brown products. I know, incredible! They were almost too pretty to eat.

The cakes that were served on my plate were all gluten free and I had a mix of everything. My favourite was the Pecan & Jasmine ‘Long-Wear Cream Eyeshadow’ Macaroon – it was heaven in my mouth I tell you. The Blueberry & Lemon ‘Smokey Eye Mascara’ was a thin chocolate roll filled with the most delicious whipped cream. I devoured this in about three mouthfuls I’d say and could’ve happily ate 5 more.

Balthazar took into consideration my sensitivity and swapped the Rhubarb & Ginger ‘Shimmer Brick’ for a mouth-watering gluten free strawberry and cream tart. Whipped cream and fruit on a dessert is my go to, so I was so happy when they brought this little beauty out. Then there was a Coco-Citrus ‘Extra Rinse Balm’ Cheesecake with a gluten free shortbread base. Stupidly, I left this till last and couldn’t finish it but it was so good I took the rest home (naughty, but nice).

The rest of the Afternoon Tea included scones (mine being gluten-free and so tasty) with clotted cream and strawberry jam, followed by a selection of sandwiches, of which I chose the vegetarian option. They weren’t the plain old cucumber sandwiches either. Balthazar whipped up some chickpea and mint, egg and spicy mayo and sweet red pepper fillings. To die for I tell ya.

Of course, the food came with a choice of tea, mine being breakfast (my fave!).

With the deal I originally had planned to get a free complimentary Bobbi Brown lesson. Unfortunately this deal was no longer running by the time we got round to booking it, which was quite a few months later, but instead they gave us a complimentary glass of champagne that was the perfect touch. Again, quite amazing service!

I would totally recommend any food and beauty lovers to come and try this out. It really won’t disappoint. I’d eat it ten times over if I could!

If you’d like to have a look, the Balthazar x Bobbi Brown tea is available to book here. Quite a bargain for a themed London Afternoon Tea to!

Do you have any Afternoon Tea recommendations? I’m always on the hunt for new food spots in London!

Although I’m quite a false lash fan and avid wearer, I do love to rock natural lashes now more than I did. I used to stick to the same mascaras and never questioned why they weren’t doing it for me, until now. I’ve recently discovered some of my favourite mascaras that achieve the ‘fluffy lash look’ without the falsies. So here are my top 3 mascara picks.

My oldest favourite here is the very well known Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara. I have so many of these, from full size to mini/deluxe, and the deluxe size is featured today, as are the other mascaras. This is a favourite of many, not just me, and it truly is amazing. The large wand gives instant length and volume and gives a really wispy effect. I find this mascara really easy to build up as well, so you can achieve very subtle lashes or extreme.

For a wispier effect, which is my favourite style of lashes, I always opt for the Wonderwand Mascara by Ciate London. I got this with the Chloe Morello collaboration, and this deluxe size has lasted me well buy generic priligy online over 3 months now. The wand is very similar to the Too Faced one but is a little wider, which gives that instant false lash effect and covers all of your lashes within seconds. I feel this one dries nicer on me than the Too Faced mascara and leaves a fluffier lash. I must pick up a full size of this, as this is my absolute favourite. I love to use this on top of falsies to, as it adds fluffiness and gives them extra wispiness.

Last but by no means least is the Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Mascara, which I believed is packaged in a silver tube when full size (just in case that seemed a bit different). This is the mascara for you if you love thicker and bolder lashes. I feel this mascara needs a little more work than the others, but by all means gives the most dramatic lashes out of all three picks if you’re into that. I love using this for the bottom lashes to as the wand gets right into the little hard to get bits.

What is your favourite mascara?
