On our second week in the Dominican Republic we decided to go on an adventure and do something we’ve not done before. The great thing is about being away on holiday is that you get lost in yourself and find a love for all things adventure, I certainly do. With the island being quite small but with so much to explore, we wanted to spend the day seeing as much of its beauty as we could. So we ventured out to visit Samana, a small mountainous terrain with stunning white sandy beaches off of the northeastern side of the island.

We travelled over to Samana on a catamaran and upon arrival were greeted with a whole new view of the Dominican Republic. Where we were staying in Punta Cana was very remote and Samana was quite the opposite with busier roads and many more locals. I love seeing and mingling in new cultures as it really opens your mind and teaches you a lot. From the bay we hopped on a safari truck and rode to a plantation farm where we got to taste and learn about the local delicacies. The fresh fruits and chai teas were a little taste of heaven.

Ollie and I finished up here and headed over to the jungle. Upon arrival of the horseback farm we were greeted by locals and from there were led into the jungle terrain on horses. It was such a surreal moment riding through the jungle greenery and beautiful water streams on horseback, I almost had to pinch myself to make sure it was real.

The most unforgettable moment for me of this day was trekking through the jungle. When I go away I always say I’m going to ride a horse along the beach and it never ends up happening. But riding one through a Caribbean jungle was just a whole other story. My horse was named Chiquito, I know how cute, and was so well behaved (thank god, as I was cracking myself a little bit beforehand). The entire experience was incredibly relaxing and like nothing I had done before.

Our surroundings consisted of jungle bushes and plants with small clear water streams running through the landscape. There where to buy ventolin online were shear drops from other waterfalls that overlooked more of the jungle and I felt I was dreaming the whole time. Honestly, it was a real pinch me moment. If you ever get the opportunity to do it I say go for it! I hadn’t been horse riding in a long time and I’m so thankful it didn’t put me off.

The day finished on a very high note as we went off to explore the tiny but beautiful island, Cayo Levantado – more commonly known by the locals are Bacardi Island. I mentioned this previously in my Getting Lost In Paradise post but I need to mention it again and in more detail. It’s just too good to not share.

Never before have I seen a place so small, unpopulated and quiet with the most beautiful beach and views. We arrived to incredible sunshine beating down on the bluest waters. For about an hour or so we got to relax by the ocean and soak up the sun and then decided to do a bit of exploring. We found a part of the beach where nobody else was and I’d say there were only 50 visitors on the island whilst we were there.

Ollie had the best idea to fly up the DJI to see the island in all its glory. I was so blown away. It only flew up for around 10-15 seconds and the entire island came into shot. It put the whole idea of travelling into perspective for me and made me realise how much of the world there is yet to see. It was the most surreal moment being able to capture the views and beauty of the Caribbean for ourselves. This little island is a real hidden gem.

Hands down the best way to finish off our second week in the Dominican Republic. A jungle trek isn’t something you can do everyday, right?

What’s your next adventure? I’d love to know some of your top bucket list places.

I do indeed need to admit that I have a lipstick addiction. I just can’t resist all of the new releases with their pretty packaging and shades, and just lately there have been so many screaming my name. When these Creamy Matte Lip Paints were released by Tarte I knew I needed to try them – the shade range is so me. They have a whole range of new nudes and reds, which I just adore.

First off, if you’re all about full coverage colour from liquid lipsticks then these are a must. Although the coverage is full, the formula is really lightweight, they kind of remind me of the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams, but much fuller coverage and better staying power. They are just very similar in texture when applying, but do indeed dry more matte. I love the soft creamy formula as it means they will stay moisturising and keep my lips hydrated throughout the entire day. We all know that dreaded feeling of taking off a liquid lipstick and feeling like you haven’t applied lip balm for about 10 years.

This ultra-pigmented and vegan friendly range comes in a stunning array of on-trend bold shades. The packaging is so sophisticated and bold and it comes with a super precise brush, one that curves to your lips and works to get the perfect lip line with no extra order priligy online hassle.

I picked up the shades Bestie, purely because of its super cute name, kidding (or am I?). It’s a deep true nude, which I like to wear on its own or as a lip highlight shade with a darker lipstick beneath it. This shade would be the perfect all over nude for lighter skin tones. Next is Delish, my favourite out of the few I picked up. Delish is a super pretty and feminine deep mauve shade, a bit on the brown side, which is just my absolute favourite right now. Then finally we have the most stunning red ever, Killin It. This shade is a berry toned red, which I find really flattering and comfortable. Some berry shades look a little too bold and daring on me, but this shade is just perfect.

L-R: Bestie, Delish, Killin It

Yet again, I’ve found another range of liquid lipsticks that I love. These have to be up there in my favourites as the formula and shade range is such perfection. They literally last a good 8 hours without touch up, especially the darker shades. I got these from Sephora, which is a real shame, as I’d love to get more. However, they are also available on the Tarte website, lets hope they offer free UK shipping again very soon!

Do you have any new lipstick favourites?

With Valentines Day upon us, it’s a time for loving others, but more often than not we forget about loving ourselves. I don’t particularly agree with Valentines Day being a reason to spread the love, as we should be doing that everyday, however now is the most appropriate time to talk about this. Today, I’m talking self-love, something I know for sure I’m guilty of not doing enough. It’s a frequent occurrence for the human brain to put oneself down and push aside self-loving, but that needs to stop.

Over the past year or so I’ve seen myself grow as a person, in a way of maturity as well as feeling more positive about myself. It’s the norm to constantly put yourself down and weigh up the negatives before the positives, but I’ve found a few ways to twist that norm around. It’s not every day I can do this, as of course the negatives get the better of you but these tricks do indeed help, and after all we are all human.

Look in the mirror and pick out the positives

This one is the hardest for me. Its quite typical to look in the mirror and think, ‘my god do I really look like that?!’, and why on earth do we do this to ourselves. Its common to reflect on the negatives, which are only negatives in your mind, in reality those ‘imperfections’ are what order ventolin albuterol others will see as beauty. Look in the mirror and tell yourself “I feel great today”. Starting the day with a positive attitude generally makes the rest of the day a positive.

Lose the ‘I can’t do it’ attitude

Beating myself up is something I used to do very often. I used to tell myself ‘I can’t do this’ and wondered why other people could, and that’s because they just did it, they just got on with it. Having a partner, whether a boyfriend/girlfriend, or best friendship that encourages you is the greatest way of tackling those things you thought you couldn’t do. In time, you’ll be able to tell yourself you can do it.

Surround yourself with the right things

Feeling committed to self-love isn’t something that comes when surrounding yourself with the wrong things, spaces and people. The right surroundings encourage positive energy to come to you. I find spaces are the most important influence; somewhere you can focus on yourself and reflect.

All in all, I think self-love is the most important part of this occasion. It is an incredible feeling to mature in a way that you can find more positives than negatives in life, and for me this stage didn’t come naturally but I managed to get there. Lets spread the love this Valentines and ensure to indulge in a little self-loving to.

What do you think about self-love? Do you have any tips?

at Home beauty treatments

At home beauty treatments are always a win win. You get salon results from the comfort of your own home, and also save a lot of money. Although I’m happy with my skin most of the time, it of course needs a pick me up every week or two. I mainly suffer with dull skin at times, and with that comes blemishes and some dry areas. The PMD Personal Microderm system is a revolutionary at-home skincare tool that provides professional in-office microdermabrasion treatments.

The PMD combines the power of exfoliation with a unique vacuum suction which works to remove your dead skin cell barriers, increase your blood circulation and therefore stimulate the body’s natural production of collagen and elastin. Exfoliating sometimes seems like a bit of a task, with all the manual scrubbing and rinsing away a lot of product. However, with the PMD it does all of the work for you.

This system uses a patented spinning disc with aluminium oxide crystals that exfoliate away the dead, dull cells on the skin. The separate order amoxil discs scrub your face effortlessly with no manual scrubbing involved and because of this, I’m now using this weekly as my skins little treat. Never
before have I been so confident in wearing no makeup so often, the PMD has helped plump my skin and make it appear much more softer and alive. No more dull looking skin, hurrah!
